for Fanfareband (2012)

This work was commissioned by the Fanfarekorps Koninklijke Landmacht ‘Bereden Wapens’ from Vught for their last Concerts in April 2012. This professional military Fanfareband (the only one of this kind in the whole world), was rationalized out of existence by politics. The title “Lost Heritage” must be understood as the loss of our own cultural heritage. In the work are some moments of Reflection; ‘In Memoriam’ (for the 34 musicians who died in the accident with the Hercules aircraft in 1996) and ‘Marche Funêbre’ for the in 2012 ‘erased’ military Fanfareband. As a Hommage to this wonderful Fanfareband and their Conductor Tijmen Botma.
