for Fanfareband (1993)

In 1993 Maurice Hamers was the Conductor of Fanfareband “St.Martinus” from Urmond (NL).           For their participance at the World Music Contest 1993  in Kerkrade he composed his ‘New Life’.   This work became a great succes since then and was played by many top Fanfarebands in the Netherlands and Belgium.  In this piece Maurice Hamers was triggered by the birth of his son in 1992.

He asked himself questions like; where do we come from, what is the real purpose in life, where are we going to? And he gave the musical answers in 4 movements:

1. Aurora
2. Death
3. Temptation and Protection from another Dimension
4. Journey into the Light.
